Abstract: In this series of three talks, I will begin by reviewing the classical theory of stable sheaves on varieties, with particular emphasis on the Bogomolov–Gieseker inequality. I will then introduce Bridgeland stability conditions on triangulated categories and discuss several of their key features, including Bridgeland’s deformation theorem and the wall–chamber structure. Finally, I will explain the Bayer–Macrì–Toda Conjecture, which provides a framework for constructing stability conditions on threefolds, and describe our recent progress toward establishing this conjecture for Calabi-Yau threefolds.
