Abstract:Let X be a (non-compact) locally symmetric space, x be a point from X. It is not hard to see that, the set E(x, X) of directions for which the geodesic ray starting from x is bounded in X, is of full Hausdorff dimension. In joint work with Chengyang Wu, we show that for finite volume locally symmetric spaces corresponding to products of SL(2, R). the corresponding set E(x, X) is indeed a winning set. The key is to establish the winning strategy for each fixed conjugacy class of directions is locally constant, hence could be patched into a winning strategy for the whole set of directions.
