Abstract:Noncompact symmetric spaces are a class of Riemannian manifolds with nonpositive sectional curvature on which the tools of Fourier analysis are available. In this talk, I will explain how to apply and improve the techniques of harmonic analysis in the study of dispersive equations in this setting. Comparing the known results in the Euclidean setting, one finds different dispersive phenomena in non-compact symmetric spaces.
