Abstract: We prove that categorical enumerative invariants of the ground field is equal to the Gromov-Witten invariants of a point. This essentially follows from a simple geometric relation between the moduli space M_{g,n} of smooth Riemann surfaces with its Deligne-Mumford compactification.
