Abstract: Schur operators in any 4d N=2 superconformal field theory form a 2d vertex operator algebra (VOA). In this 4d/2d correspondence, Schur index is mapped to the torus partition function of the VOA (i.e., character of the vacuum module). In this talk I will discuss how to apply localization techniques to this 4d/2d correspondence. We will begin with a review of the correspondence and the localization argument, and then we will localize the Schur index and Schur correlation functions, and finally briefly discuss the relation between surface defects and additional solutions to modular differential equations of the Schur index.
