Abstract:As Ben Green noted, additive combinatorics is a marriage of number theory, harmonic analysis, and combinatorics... which aims to understand systems: the operations of addition and multiplication and how they interact.
In this talk, I will explore various problems within finite field theory that can be approached from multiple mathematical directions. I will demonstrate how to solve these problems using a diverse set of tools, including combinatorial methods, harmonic analysis, and spectral graph theory. To ensure the presentation is accessible to a broad mathematical audience, the talk will be kept self-contained, and the core ideas behind each technique will be clearly introduced.
