Abstract: A Fubini-Study metric on an ample line bundle is called critical if it minimizes (in its GIT-orbit) the induced norm of the Chow form of the polarized variety. In complex geometry, such metrics are characterised by the constancy of its Bergman function, and are related to balanced embeddings. We study such metrics in the non-archimedean analytic setting, and give a characterisation in terms of a condition involving a polytope defined by a polymatroid. Time permitting we examin criticality of n-A FS metrics induced by theta sections (work based on arXiv:2212.02486)
