Abstract:Links of isolated singularities are natural contact manifolds, whose contact topology reflects properties of the singularity. I will explain how singularity provides examples with special filling properties and reversely how contact topology helps solve problems in complex geometry, including the higher dimensional Bishop problem and Kahler compactification of C^n. This talk is partially based on joint works with Chi Li, Hanlong Fang, Xiaojun Huang, and Wanke Yin.
