Abstract: The Markov numbers which are integral solutions of the Markov equation are an excellent example for thriving interest in number theory. In this talk we'll start from analysing the Markov equation, then defining and proving some properties of the Markov numbers and equivalences of some of the uniqueness conjectures. We then introduce the Markov theorem which links surprisingly the Markov numbers to the field of Diophantine Apprixiamation.
