Abstract: We will describe two different Hamiltonian Floer theories on a global quotient orbifold. One of the theories will lead to a generalization to arbitrary effective orbifolds. The other definition, proposed by Thaddeus, connects the symplectic fixed point Floer cohomology with the quantum orbifold cohomology. We then describe an extension of the Picard Lefschetz theory to the realm of symplectic orbifolds, which plays a key role in the A-side of mirror symmetry but has been a missing puzzle in the orbifold category.
