Abstract:
In this talk, we will show how analytic tools are used to describe certain structures of natural numbers. First, topology and order are characterized by C*-algebras. We define entropy of arithmetic functions and explore some interesting properties. Second, additive sub-structures of natural numbers are reflected by corresponding Fourier coefficients. Third, for the multiplication, we introduce both the classical approach originated by Riemann, and some point of views involving Hilbert spaces and operators.
