Abstract: Taubes proved that if X is a closed oriented Riemannian 4-manifold with negative definite intersection-form then there exist some instantons over X (on the SU_2 bundle with c_2=1). The proof contains a gluing method; which I will explain, following the section 7.2 of Donaldson-Kronheimer's book.
